Why do you need an independent childbirth class?
What is an independent childbirth class?
We know that childbirth a.k.a. antenatal class is very important for an expecting mother as she prepares herself to welcome her baby into the world. She needs to learn everything that she could, be it physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually....about herself, her body, her baby and her birth. Throughout the 9 months of expecting her baby, she could learn via reading books, doing research, listening to stories from experienced mothers, etc. However, attending an independent childbirth class is the most direct and effective way as you can learn about everything you need to know, techniques of working with your body and also the proper way to prepare your mindset to welcome your bundle of joy. Unlike hospital antenatal classes, an independent childbirth class emphasizes on preparing yourself more naturally and completely...physically, mentally and emotionally, so that you can have a healthy pregnancy and subsequently a safer and more enjoyable birth, and a healthier baby.
Effective natural ways to cope with your labourWe know all along that drugs, even the smallest amount, brings us side-effects. The effects could be measurable or immeasurable. During labour, it is even more important for the birthing mother to avoid drugs as we know that drug is usually the correct dosage for the mother but it is an overdose for the unborn baby. Any drug used during labour can reach the unborn baby within one minute. Not to forget that drugs, for example, the pitocin(speed-up drug), is petroleum-based. We would not want petroleum to be injected into our body, even not so for our dear little baby. Some mothers even reported of having allergy to drugs. We cannot be sure that our baby is not allergy to the drugs used too. This is an uncertainty which we would not want to risk it in our baby. Furthermore, it is very common that drugs is not as effective as it is expected during labour. Some mothers reported having pain even after taking epidural. Not to mention the risk of inserting epidural. Hence, it is very useful if you could learn of more natural ways to help you during your labour.

Pre-birth bonding with baby
A parent-child relationship starts upon conception. Bonding with your child while he/she is in the womb is as important as when he/she arrives. Taking initiative to prepare yourself and your baby well for the big day itself has already meant that you have taken your first step in your parenthood journey. An independent childbirth class often includes caring for your unborn child. It encourages mothers to care for the well-being of the baby, and also encourages involvement of fathers in nurturing the baby. It promotes bonding of the father, mother and baby. Couples have reported of having a more intimate relationship and mutual agreement to parenthood after classes as they made effort together to prepare and welcome their "love" into their lives. Birth is indeed a family event.
